Community Conservation has worked with Pronatura de Yucatan to help the Mayan village of Punta Laguna protect a local population of spider monkeys. The area is also an archaeological site, which the local community has developed for additional tourism. There is currently a rain forest honey project to develop income for the community and additional programs to create economic incentives through tourism and produce sales.
